Lb's Pizza House - Access Statement

This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors.

We welcome all guests at LB’s Pizza House, including guests with an impairment which could include mobility, sight, hearing and learning disabilities. If you require further information which is not covered in this statement or should you have any queries, please let us know.

Introduction

Situated in the historic market town of Keswick, LB’s Pizza House offers a great dining experience of traditional and modern Italian cuisine in relaxed surroundings. We use fresh, seasonal produce and do our best to cater for any dietary requirements; please contact us in advance with any specific requests.

Pre-Arrival

The nearest railway station is Penrith, which is 18 miles away. Taxis are available at the station. If you require an accessible taxi this can be booked in advance, see contact information for details.

The nearest bus stop is 400m/546yds from the restaurant – ask the driver for the stop outside Booths supermarket. There is a shelter with seating. All public buses can accommodate one wheelchair.

Located in the heart of the town, main attractions and shops are all within a short walking distance. The restaurant is situated just off the Market Square, down an alleyway on a slight hill with a gradual approach. There is 1 step down to the front doors of the restaurant.

Alternatively, the restaurant is accessible from Central car park which has no steps to traverse.

Car Parking Facilities and Arrival

There is a car park named Central car park to the rear of the restaurant which is just a few metres from the back door to the restaurant. The car park surface is tarmac and it is possible to get from the car park to the restaurant without needing to go up or down a kerb. The car park is well lit at night.

The front entrance door is manual, 102cm wide, light to push and the doors will lock open. The back entrance door has no steps with a level entry threshold and is 82cm wide. We can assist should you need any help to enter the restaurant.

Restaurant

The restaurant and bar area are situated on the ground floor with level entry from the entrance. Both the restaurant and bar have level access throughout. One area at the back of the restaurant has several steps up without hand rails to a small seating area. This does not restrict access to the rest of the restaurant however. The restaurant has a mix of upright chairs without arms. Tables and chairs in both areas are well spaced apart. Tables have a clear height from the floor of 76cm. Lighting throughout is synthetic. The flooring is a mix of wood and short pile carpet. The restaurant is table service for lunch and dinner.

We do our best to cater for any dietary requirements; please contact us in advance with any specific requests. Where possible all our food produce is locally sourced. Large print menus are available. Specials of the day are shown on a glass mirror. All staff can assist by running through menus with you. Crockery is colour contrasted with the dark wooden table tops where possible. There is background music in the restaurant and the bar area.

Customer Toilets

Customer toilets can be found to the side of the restaurant. There is level access to these from both the restaurant and bar area. All accessible toilets have the same specification, as described below: Entrance door 72cm wide and level entry into the toilet. The toilet height is 40cm. Well lit with fluorescent overhead lighting. Lever taps on the sink.

Outdoor Areas

There is a decked area, which is used for dining during summer months. There are 2 steps up to each section of the decking. The chairs are upright with arms. Tables have a clear height from the floor of 71cm. Chairs and seating can be arranged to suit. There is full table service in this area, where staff are on hand to assist.

Additional Information

All of our staff receive regular training that includes disability awareness training.

We have a set of evacuation procedures; accessibility is taken into account as part of our fire assessment. Should you require assistance someone will come to your table and help you with evacuation either out of the building or to a refuge.

We welcome trained assistance dogs. A water bowl is available.

Clear signage is used throughout the premises using Arial font and large black letters on a yellow background.
